The Congress claims 7,11,000 trees will be felled for the Great Nicobar project, while the government says it will plant many more trees in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana to compensate.

“कांग्रेस कह रही है कि इस प्रोजेक्ट की वजह से 7 लाख 11,000 पेड़ काटे जाएंगे... सरकार कह रही है कि जो पेड़ निकोबार में कटेंगे उससे कई ज्यादा एमपी और हरियाणा में हम लगाएंगे।”
